Principal

Amy Razzino is an experienced educational administrator with a strong background in leading private therapeutic day schools. She currently serves as Principal at The Lumen Academy, where she has significantly increased enrollment and implemented trauma-informed practices, curriculum improvements, and compliance systems. Prior to that, she was Principal at Menta Academy North, growing the school from 35 to 200 students and overseeing all instructional and administrative functions. Her career spans over 30 years and includes roles as Executive Assistant, Dean of Discipline, adjunct university faculty, and physical education teacher. She holds multiple Illinois educator certifications and has additional leadership experience.

Kevin Crall is a Special Education teacher at Lumen Academy. Kevin attended Roosevelt University for his undergraduate degree and his LBS1 endorsement. In the past, he has worked as an ACT and SAT tutor and a substitute teacher. Kevin has been a Special Education teacher for the past 2 years working with students from a variety of ages and backgrounds.

Denise attended Northern Illinois University for her undergraduate and LBS1. She attended Aurora University for my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She also has her endorsement in English Language Learning. Ms. D'Hooge has been teaching for 35 years and has taught a variety of ages and backgrounds.

Emily attended Elmhurst University for her undergraduate degree and Eastern Illinois University for her Master’s degree. Emily has provided school-based therapeutic services for the past 2 years working with diverse student bodies.
